Amuse No More

Abandoned Amusement Park 2

It looks as if time stood still at this abandoned amusement park. Quiet, alone and forgotten. The fog creeps up. The rust sets in. It all seems eerie.

Opened in 1973, it has definitely seen its fair share of happy kids and families make full use of the place. It changed management in 1982, and due to financial difficulties, the amusement park saw its last days in 1999.

As time went by, larger scale amusement parks opened, leaving these smaller places fighting to stay afloat.

I love how the main colours used for the rides are primary pastel colours. Very 70s feel. Warm, fun, cheerful colours!

The world is like a ride in an amusement park.

And when you choose to go on it you think it’s real because that’s how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it’s very brightly coloured and it’s very loud and it’s fun, for a while.

Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: “Is this real, or is this just a ride?”

And other people have remembered, they say, “Hey, don’t worry, don’t be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.”
