Google Doodle

Norman Rockwell-Little Spooners

I use Google everyday and really love its Doodles (you know, those graphical logos that sit above the search box on the otherwise minimalist page).

Especially loved today’s Doodle!

Did a Google search (what else!) and found out that it is a painting by American painter Norman Rockwell called “Little Spooners” to commemorate Rockwell’s birthday.

The painting was one of Rockwell’s most popular and appeared on the front cover of the Saturday Evening Post on April 24 1926.

Some of Rockwell’s work below.

Norman Rockwell collage

Clockwise from left:
– Triple Self-Portrait
– The Problem We All Live With (depicting an incident in the American Civil Rights struggle of the early 1960s)
– Saturday Evening Post Cover
– A Red Cross Man In The Making (his first en:Boy Scouts of America calendar in 1925, originally published in 1918 in The Red Cross Magazine)
